Welcome to the Troop.
I am a firm believer that the world is, in many ways, just one big city. Across all space and time, humans share the same emotions, needs, joys, and sadnesses as each other. No matter what language you think in, we all share the commonality of our humanity. Not only do all people have fundamental similarities, but we also all live in the city Earth. From a geographical point of view, obviously the challenges and realities of every corner of the world are unique and fascinating; but, I think we all could use reminders that ultimately we’re in this thing together. That’s why I’m calling this community Troop 7B - one unified cohort made up of the 7+ billion people on our planet.
My name is Alessandra, and I am a 24 year-old geographer living in Fort Worth, Texas. I hold a B.S. in Geography from Texas A&M University, and I am working towards a career as an environmental lawyer. I want to advocate for the environment, beginning with educating more people. I have always loved learning about how earth systems work, as well as “translating” complex topics into an easy-to-understand format. I love writing about environmental topics and I am so glad you’re here.
On nice days you can find me relaxing in hammocks with my standard poodle, Pia, or drinking an icy ‘rita on a patio.
